Olode and Thread

Olode and Thread came on the fashion scene as a manufacturer of leather goods in 2004, expanding in 2006 to incorporate garment making. The brand‘s first base was in the ancient city of Benin, where New York trained designer and founder, Igunma Osa-Jean, drew on his FIT tutelage and Benin’s artistic heritage and rich history to create a brand that was both a homage to the past and a taste of the future. In 2017, Olode and Thread moved its operations to Lagos, gaining a stellar reputation amongst the city’s haute monde for its quality benchmark and its proficiency with high art. By popular demand, Olode and Thread diversified into female clothing with a LAGOS-themed line that launched in May 2020. After sixteen years catering to its male clientele, it was time to bring the brand’s distinctive mark of sophistication, elegance and functionality to women’s fashion.
