Kitovu is a web and mobile-based, decentralized system for storing fertilizer and seedlings. It connects smallholder farmers in distant and remote areas with the right inputs for their farms, reducing the cost of cultivation and increasing yields. The platform consists of a web portal, mobile app, and USSD platforms to enable even the most rural farmers to benefit from the solution. With the mobile app, Kitopreneurs (independent entrepreneurs working with us) can collect data such as geo-location and soil data, which is then analyzed, aggregated, and synchronized in our online database using Big Data Analytics tools. This allows us to accurately match farm locations with the right fertilizers, agro-chemicals, and seedlings, ensuring optimal yields.
